Weekly Wellness News
Greetings and peace be unto you.......
A little consistency goes a long way, and my goal is to provide you with wellness support, information, and tools that can counteract the rippling impact of today’s crisis across the globe. System shut-downs, unemployment, homelessness, loss of spiritual influence, and death of loved ones are just a few leading causes for individuals' lack of well-being. On the surface, we laugh with others, go about our daily routines, and pretend that everything is okay. Social workers are considered mission workers for the causes of social justice and empowerment based on the foundational principles since the early 1900’s. Since launching this website, I have committed myself to the cause of promoting community wellness providing empirical knowledge through trainings, life coaching, and intellectual writings to support the causes for “social recovery”. Yes, that is right, we need to collectively recover as a society to move forward in our lives for the better and the future of the next generation. In efforts to make this happen, tough dialog that is thought-provoking and respect for the differences in perception of individuals' world-views are necessary. If there were one answer to resolve the disparities happening in our world, we would not be having this discussion. Strengthening communities decreases health disparities, mental illness and poverty within various populations by connecting with an endeavor to live healthier lives holistically.
This week, I challenge you all to endeavor to care for yourself in a way that is meaningful to you. Here are some practical steps in doing so:
Write down your immediate thought of self-care.
Make a plan to enact that idea of self-care.
Reflect on the achievement of following through with the self-care plan.
Weekly Devotional:
Creativity is developed within us and is important to the growth and development of our lives and those of others. Having a support system is integral to life survival, and sometimes this means a one-on-one relationship with the Creator, our God. In the Bible, the book of Ezekiel explains the importance of reviving dead things. As humans, we are meant to produce and build upon our authentic dreams. In the moments of self-reflection, hone in on your spiritual beliefs for guidance and direction to connect with the right people at the right time. Evil is ever approaching and you will need to decide what side you are on (Ezekiel 37: 1-11). Weekly reminder- you are always safe with God!
